The cable car ride is a longer one, and you reach higher ground Ulriken is the highest of the 7 mountains in Bergen. Anyway back to Floyen! Beautiful views everywhere, you feel like you can get lost in the forest and you just wanna keep going I went during winter. The Funicular is easy to locate! After your ride, if you're looking for a nice café to chill at, there's one called Det Lille Kaffekompaniet nearby. It's small and you might not get a seat, but persist as we did by standing around, and you will be rewarded with the best cheese cake ever and a friendly Aussie barista!
Thank you for sharing your experience after your visit to Mount Fløyen in Bergen. Mount Ulriken is a bus drive of fifteen minutes from the city and we also recommend this trip if you have time, there is also a hike between these two mountain of hours.
But at Mount Fløyen only 6 minutes from the city, you have this amazing view where you get to see Bergen from a special perspective! To see some truly amazing views you need to do the Mount Floyren and Funicular rail way when in Bergen. It's pricey for the trip to someone who lives outside Scandinavia , but once at the top you won't grudge it as the view is amazing.
At the top there is a cafe, a number of walks and a gift shop. I fully recommend wrapping up warm as it got very cold very fast up there. The ride is great for young and old alike, and the views from on top are post card quality. Must see for your trip to Bergen. Really good value. Incredible views and lots of lovely walks at the top.
We took the funicular up Mt. Floyen, early in the morning. Each car had a few passengers, but none were crowded. The ride was smooth, and allowed for a good view of the city and the harbor below. At the top, we chose to walk down the path back toward the city center. It was well marked, and while we encountered many others going up or down the mountain, it felt very serene. The drizzle may have helped.

A glass of Chablis went down very well. Very much recommended. Have visited this restaurant on numerous occasions, the staff are very attentive and speak very good English. Food is outstanding. Just one little thing I would like to say is maybe change the menu from time to time.
Old bank lobby converted into a restaurant. Big selection of foods from sushi, pasta and burgers. Staff is friendly. Food is good and came out quickly. The steak here is to die for, tender and good. Friendly atmosphere and staff, and good location. The perfect place to eat with friends or family. Own or manage this property? The staff were very friendly and invited the chefs themselves to explain to us exactly what it was we were eating. The furthest any of the ingredients had travelled was around 90 minutes from the restaurant itself - the shortest distance only a few meters from kitchen to table sour Lucy was delicious - and all of the food was prepared and cooked there in house.
Dear Alex, We really appreciate your thorough and kind review and we are pleased to read that you certainly enjoyed your evening with us. Welcome back at any time. My husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner in this restaurant.
Service was friendly and food was delicious! Warm recommendation. Dear Anne, We appreciate your kind review. Welcome back next time visiting our wonderful city.
We started off to a bit of a rocky start in terms of service, but the minute we said something, the manager took care of us. Everything was resolved and she went out of her way to make sure we had a wonderful evening. We ended up having an amazing time. Food and drink were great! Dear Jennifer, I am pleased to read your pleasant review and that you found that Lovisa took care of you.
We ate at on a Saturday night. The restaurant is located in an old building which apparently was built in The staff said that the restaurant is five years old. The crowd at the restaurant were older. The staff were very friendly and also knowledgeable about the menu and wine.
The restaurant sourced local ingredients for the meal. The chefs or staff introduced each course. We had the five course tasting menu and two glasses of wine each. The menu included some amuse bouche, scallops, fish, potato dish with sour plums , reindeer and an apple dessert.
The dishes were interesting - we noted that for many of the dishes they would cook the ingredient multiple ways, for example pickled and then roasted pumpkin. The flavours sour and sweet were interesting.
